MAYO AREA FIRE DISTRICT BUDGET HEARING The Board of Fire Control of the Mayo Area Fire District, the governing body of the Mayo Area Fire District will hold a public hearing regarding the adoption of its fiscal year 1 Jan- 31 Dec 2026 Budget. The Public Hearing will be held in order to comply with the requirements of Section 6-1-80 of the Code of Laws of South Carolina 1976, as amended. Accordingly, notice is hereby given that the Public Hearing will be held by the Board at the Mayo Area Fire Department Headquarters located at 150 Church Street, Mayo SC 29368, on Thursday December 11th 2025 at 7:00PM. Estimates of the anticipated expenditures of the fiscal year 1/1-12/31 2025 budget and the proposed revenue and expenditures of 2026 budget year are as follows: 2025Budgeted Revenue::$483300 2025Actual Revenue(EST)::$757845 2025Budgeted Expenditures::$493800 2025Actual Expenditures(EST)::$821545 2026 Revenue (EST)$518299 Expenditures (EST) $523960 %Increase Revenue 6.6% %Increase Expenditures 6.1% The Total Millage of the district for tax year 2025 was 30 mills. The total mileage levied by the district is expected to generate $518300, which combined with other revenues and investments, is expected to meet the budgeted expenditures for the operational requirements of the District. The aforesaid hearing shall be conducted publicly and both proponents and opponents of the proposed action shall be given full opportunity to be heard in person or by counsel.
