3. Public Comment – None
4. Information 4.1 Fine Arts Hall-of-Fame Update – HS Activities Director, Dustin Smith, updated the board on the bylaws and criteria of the newly created Fine & Performing Arts Hall of Fame. The Nevada High School Fine & Performing Arts Hall of Fame was created in 2025 to recognize the exceptional accomplishments of former Nevada High School Fine & performing arts students and to celebrate major accomplishments by individuals in art, band, choir, dance, drama, and speech.
5. Action Agenda
5.1 Van Wall Quotes – Director of Building & Grounds, Dave Kroese, presented a quote from Van Wall for the purchase of a John Deere Z997R diesel mower for the secondary campus, the district will trade in a 2017 John Deere Z7997R mower. Kroese also presented a quote from Van Wall for the purchase of a X758 tractor and mower deck that will be used for snow removal, the district will be replacing a snow removal unit and back up mower tractor that has been in use since 2010. A motion by Maier to approve the mower and tractor purchase as presented, second by Anderson. Motion Carried 4-0
5.2 Annual Meeting Items – Treasurer's Report (707.2) – Business Manager, Tammy Ellis, reviewed the FY 25 Certified Annual Report (CAR) that was filed with the State on September 15, 2025 with revenues exceeding expenses by $58,155: Revenues were $21,037,494 and expenditures were $20,979,339. Ellis also reviewed the 2025-2026 district depositories that is approved annually by the board. A motion by Anderson to approve the CAR and the 2025-26 district depositories second by Harter. Motion Carried 4-0
5.3 Application for Modified Allowable Growth (MAG) – Ellis updated the board on the FY25 special education balance of (575,576.82) seeking approval for an application to the SBRC for the negative special education balance. Motion by Maier to approve the application to the SBRC for the negative special education balance of (575,576.82) second by Harter. Motion Carried. 4-0
5.4 MOU & Support for Additional DMACC Career Academy Programming – Dr Gray presented a support letter that he wrote to the Review Committee Members of the Career Academy Incentive Fund (CAIF). Currently DMACC Ames Hunziker Center offers several Career Academy programs that benefit Nevada CSD students: Automotive Mechanics Technology, Building Trades/Finish Carpentry, Business, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, Health Occupations, and Teacher Academy. The grant will also support the addition of a new Career Academy program: Information Technology (IT). Dr Gray also mentioned that Nevada CSD has the highest ratio of Story County students in the Career Academy at the DMACC Ames Hunziker Center.
Student Board Member, Jaden Grimm said that he knows of several students who use the program and it's a great opportunity. Motion by Harter to approve the MOU between the district and DMACC, second by Anderson. Motion Carried 4-0
6. Consent Agenda – Motion by Harter to approve the consent agenda as presented, second by Anderson. Motion Carried 4-0.

2025-26 MS Drama Contract Updates: • Alan Erickson Update FY26 contract from $838 to $896  Correct FY25 contract of $69.80 that will be paid in FY26 • Shawna Dumbaugh: Update FY26 contract from $841 to $896,  Correct FY25 contract of $69.80 that will be paid in FY26 • Lisa Ott: Update FY 26 contract from $1,112 to $1,161  Correct FY25 contract of $60.40 added to FY26.
7. Board Items
7.1 Board Member Comments: Grimm talked about the Musical coming up soon and is going great so far. Maier inquired how other districts are doing with their enrollment, Dr Gray will share the information with the board when districts get their enrollment numbers entered in.
