NOTICE OF DECISION
UPPER FREEHOLD TOWNSHIP PLANNING BOARD
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that on April 9, 2026 the Upper Freehold Township Planning Board (the "Board") adopted a Resolution (the "Resolution") memorializing its decision of March 12, 2026 to grant the application of Mahamevnawa Bhavana Monastery of NJ, LLC ("Applicant") for a change in permitted use and minor site plan approval (the "Application"), with respect to property having a street address of 70 Route 526, Township of Upper Freehold, County of Monmouth, State of New Jersey, the same of which is designated as Block 23.02, Lot 17 on the official Tax Map of Upper Freehold Township (the "Property"). The Property is located in the Township's Agricultural Residential Zoning District (the "AR Zone").
As set forth in the Resolution, the Board approved Applicant's Application to use the existing main building on the Property for religious services and associated housing for up to three (3) monks, while the existing pole barn will be used for incidental storage. Applicant's proposed use of the Property is permitted within the AR Zone and only minor site improvements for parking striping, parking signage, lighting and dumpster screening.
The Resolution has been filed with and is available for public inspection at the office of the Board within the Upper Freehold Township Municipal Building, located at 314 Route 539 Cream Ridge, New Jersey 08514, during regular business hours.
