NOTICE OF FILING OF
APPLICATION FOR CAMA MAJOR
DEVELOPMENT PERMIT
The Department of Environmental Quality hereby gives public notice as required by NCGS 113A-119(b) that the following applications were submitted for a development permit in Areas of Environmental Concern as designated under the CAMA: On November 7, 2025, Martin Brown proposed to construct a retaining wall with approximately 532.02 SF of associated freshwater (265.56 SF), coastal wetland (258.21 SF), and joint wetland (8.25 SF) fill at 340 Caswell Beach Rd., adj. to a tidal marsh connected to Smokehouse Creek in Caswell Beach, Brunswick County; And on November 7, 2025 Long Pointe Estates HOA, Inc. proposed to reconfigure an existing nine (9) slip docking facility & perform new dredging around the facility at 2060 Washington Acres Rd., adj. to the AIWW in Hampstead, Pender County. Copies of these applications can be examined or copied at the office of Courtney Milliron (Brunswick County) or Phil D'Angelis (Pender County) N.C. Dept. of Environmental Quality, Division of Coastal Management, 127 Cardinal Drive Ext., Wilmington, NC 28405, (910) 796-7423 (Courtney) or (910) 796-7240 (Phil) during normal business hours.
Comments mailed to Tancred Miller, Director, Division of Coastal Management, 400 Commerce Avenue, Morehead City, NC 28557-3421, prior to December 4, 2025 will be considered in making the permit decision. Later comments will be accepted and considered up to the time of permit decision. Project modification may occur based on review and comment by the public and state and federal agencies. Notice of the permit decision in these matters will be provided upon written request.
