NOTICE OF FILING OF APPLICATION FOR CAMA MAJOR DEVELOPMENT PERMIT The Department of Environmental Quality hereby gives public notice as required by NCGS 113A-119(b) that the following applications were submitted for a development permit in Areas of Environmental Concern as designated under the CAMA: On April 24, 2026, Brunswick County proposed to construct a new outfall pipe at the Brunswick County Wastewater Treatment plant with associated upland development as part of the wastewater treatment plant expansion at 10480 Royster Rd. NE (SR #1431), adj. to the Cape Fear River in Navassa, Brunswick County. The applicant also has a pending modification to their National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permit #0086819 that is processing with NC DWR. Copies of these applications can be examined or copied at the office of Kelsey Beachman N.C. Dept. of Environmental Quality, Division of Coastal Management, 127 Cardinal Drive Ext., Wilmington, NC 28405, (910) 796-7270 during normal business hours. Comments mailed to Tancred Miller, Director, Division of Coastal Management, 400 Commerce Avenue, Morehead City, NC 28557-3421, prior to May 22, 2026 will be considered in making the permit decision. Later comments will be accepted and considered up to the time of permit decision. Project modification may occur based on review and comment by the public and state and federal agencies.
