NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING FOR CASE NO. 9836
In the matter of the Hagerstown Light Department's application for authority to increase its rates for electric service.
An evening hearing for the purpose of receiving public comments in connection with the application on the above-titled matter will be a virtual meeting held Wednesday, January 14, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. The hearing will begin with a presentation by the HLD, followed by brief statements from the Maryland Office of People's Counsel (OPC), and the Technical Staff of the Commission.
If any member of the public would like to participate in the hearing, they may sign up through the Commission's website https://www.psc.state.md.us/ by January 12, 2026. Under the "Featured Topics" section on the right side of the website, take the following steps: click on Public Comment Hearing Sign up; click on Case No. 9836; click on January 16, 2026; select 6:00 p.m. and click on "next"; and enter your name and email address and click "Schedule Event." You will receive a zoom link once you have completed the sign-up process. If a member of the public does not wish to speak, the public hearing may be viewed only on the Public Utility Law Judge Division's YouTube Channel, https://bit.ly/2X6wLiP.
Written comments may be submitted electronically or by first-class mail through Wednesday, January 14, 2025. Comments submitted electronically must be submitted through the Commission's Public Comment Dropbox, which can be accessed through the Commission's website at www.psc.state.md.us.
Instructions for logging into the Public Comment Dropbox are located under the "Tools" section of the Commission's website under the "Make a Public Comment" tab, which can be accessed via the following link: https://www.psc.state.md.us/make-a-public-comment/.
Commenters utilizing the Public Comment Dropbox are required to complete a one-time registration. If submitted by first-class mail, comments must be addressed to Jamie Bergin, Chief Clerk, Maryland Public Service Commission, William Donald Schaefer Tower, 6 St. Paul Street, 16th Floor, Baltimore, Maryland 21202. Only one copy is required. All comments must include a reference to Case No. 9836.
