NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
NOTICE is hereby given that the Cumberland County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing in Room 118 of the County Courthouse at 117 Dick Street, on June 15, 2026, beginning at 6:45 pm, or as soon thereafter as may be heard in accordance with N.C.G.S. 158-7.1(c) to receive public comments on the proposed grant of economic development incentives being considered for "Project Odesa,".
The purpose of the hearing is to receive public comments on a proposed Economic Development Incentive being considered for "Project Odesa," a US-headquartered company that is considering a 28,479 square-foot building on Dedication Drive for a new headquarters and manufacturing facility. The project shall (1) create more than 162 full-time jobs in the County by 2028 with an average wage exceeding $70,759 and where (2) all incentivized positions will pay a salary exceeding the County's current private sector median wage of $49,382. The county's proposed incentive offer consists of a job creation incentive grant not to exceed $121,500, and will be paid on a pro-rata basis in three installments. The County will recover the cost, and the public will benefit through future property and business taxes, stimulation of the economy, promotion of business, and the creation of new jobs in Cumberland County.
All interested persons are invited to attend and present their views.
