NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNERS
The Altoona Board of Adjustment will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, July 7th, 2026, at 6:30 PM in the Council Chambers at Altoona City Hall, 900 Venbury Drive, Altoona, Iowa.
The purpose of said hearing is to consider a request for a conditional use permit from Chase Juhl for the property located at 1009 9th Avenue Place SE. The property is zoned R-5 (Planned Unit Development). The applicant is requesting a conditional use permit to operate their online sales business. All sales are made online, and all storage will be contained within the garage. Chapter 168.06(3)(A) lists home occupation as a permitted conditional use on the condition that "A conditional use permit must be applied for and received form the Board of Adjustment for a home occupation which does not meet the requirements set forth in section 167.15 of the Zoning Code – General Regulations."
The Board of Adjustment of Altoona, Iowa, may by special permit, after holding a Public Hearing, authorize the conditional use permit needed to allow such use.
