Notice of Annual Election - Hawthorne Fire District PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Annual Election of the Hawthorne Fire District will take place on December 9, 2025 between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 9:00 P.M. at the firehouse located at 25 Home Street, Hawthorne, New York for the following purpose: TO ELECT ONE (1) FIRE DISTRICT COMMISSIONER FOR A FIVE (5) YEAR TERM COMMENCING JANUARY 1, 2026 AND ENDING DECEMBER 31, 2030. All residents of the Hawthorne Fire District, who are duly registered to vote with the Westchester County Board of Elections on or before November 17, 2025, shall be entitled to vote at this election. Any person desiring to have his or her name appear on the ballot for the above office must have filed a petition signed by at least twenty-five (25) qualified electors of the Fire District, with the Secretary of the Fire District not later than November 19, 2025. AND TO VOTE ON THE FOLLOWING MANDATORY REFERENDUM NOTICE OF ELECTION NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT, an election of the qualified voters of the Hawthorne Fire District in the Town of Mount Pleasant, Hawthorne New York, will be held at the Hawthorne Fire District, 25 Home Street, Hawthorne NY 10532 at said Fire District, on the 9th day of December 2025, between the hours of 6:00 o'clock P.M. and 9:00 o'clock P.M., prevailing time, for the purpose of voting by ballot on the adoption or rejection of the following resolution: RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION 25-20 AUTHORIZING THE BOARD OF FIRE COMMISSIONERS OF THE HAWTHORNE FIRE DISTRICT, TOWN OF MOUNT PLEASANT, HAWTHORNE, NEW YORK,, TO SELL OR OTHERWISE DISPOSE OF PERSONAL PROPERTY OF THE HAWTHORNE FIRE DISTRICT CONSISTING OF A 2008 AERIAL TRUCK, WHICH VEHICLE IS NO LONGER NECESSARY FOR ANY OF THE USES OR PURPOSES OF THE DISTRICT AT SUCH TIME, AND UPON SUCH TERMS AND CONDITIONS AS THE BOARD IN ITS DISCRETION MAY DETERMINE; SAID MONIES REALIZED THEREFROM TO BE USED TO FUND OTHER APPARATUS AND/OR EQUIPMENT PURCHASES AS DETERMINED BY THE BOARD. BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Hawthorne Fire District in the Town of Mount Pleasant, Hawthorne , New York, as follows: Section 1. The Board of Fire Commissioners is of the opinion that the present 2008 Aerial Truck is no longer needed and the District needs to replace outdated equipment and the sale of this apparatus could fund all or part of that purchase or other necessary equipment. Section 2. That it is determined that the monies to be received from the sale of the Aerial Truck will exceed $100,000.00. Section 3. Pursuant to Section 6-g Subdivision 5 of the General Municipal Law, any monies received therefrom shall be paid into the Apparatus Reserve Fund. Section 4.
