Notice of Public Hearing NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING Notice is hereby given that on December 22, 2025 at 5:00 p.m., the Monroe County Commissioners will conduct a public hearing in the Nat U. Hill Room of the Monroe County Courthouse, located at 100 W. Kirkwood Avenue, Bloomington, Indiana. The hearing will be concerning the expansion of the current Monroe Fire Protection District, allowed under Indiana Code 36-8-11-4, to include the Town of Stinesville, Town of Ellettsville, the unincorporated areas of Bean Blossom Township, Polk Township, Salt Creek Township, and or Richland Township. The hearing will also include input from the public regarding Richland Township and Ellettsville creating a new independent Fire Protection District. The expansion may include all or some of the previously mentioned taxing districts. The Public will be allowed to give comment.
