NOTICE TO THE ABOVE-NAMED RESPONDENTS: A petition for termination of parental rights has been filed by the named petitioners regarding Sophia Michele Smith in the District Court of Shelby County, Alabama, Juvenile Division. It having been made known to the court that the identity and whereabouts of any presumed, legal, acknowledged or adjudicated father of the above named child/children, and/or any other unknown or putative father of said child, and/or any person claiming a parental right in, for or to said child, are unknown to the petitioners and cannot be determined with reasonable diligence by the petitioners and the court having considered all of the foregoing, it is ORDERED, ADJUDGED, and DECREED: That a hearing on the petition for termination of parental rights is hereby set on the February 2, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. in the District Court of Shelby County, Alabama, Juvenile division, Shelby County Courthouse, Courtroom #1B, at Columbiana, Alabama. Any person claiming an interest in, to or for said minor child must file an answer to said petition within Fourteen (14) days of perfection of service by publication with the clerk of the Juvenile Court of Shelby County, Alabama. It is further ORDERED, ADJUDGED and DECREED that a copy of this Order be published in the Shelby County Reporter and the Florida Times-Union, newspapers of general circulation in Shelby County, Alabama and Jacksonville, Florida for four (4) consecutive weeks so as to give due notice of said hearing and service of the summons and petition to the father, John Caleb Borhman and ANY UNKNOWN FATHER and/or any person claiming a parental right in for or to said Child.
