PROOF HEARING NOTICE NOTICE OF PUBLICATION IN THE HERALD NEWS Plaintiff Shahana Hussain has filed a lawsuit in Superior Court of the State of New Jersey in Passaic County against Defendant Emilio Diaz-Matos, et al, bearing Docket number PAS-L-998-24. On April 28, 2022 Defendant Emilio Diaz-Matos was the owner and operator of a motor vehicle, said vehicle proceeding on Beech Street, Paterson, New Jersey. At the aforesaid time, Defendant operated his vehicle in such a careless, reckless and/or negligent manner so as to strike Plaintiff's motor vehicle. As result of the injuries sustained by Shahana Hussain On December 20, 2024, The Honorable Scott J. Bennion, J.S.C., execute an Order permitting substituted service upon Defendant Emilio Diaz-Matos by publication of this statement in The Herald News to serve an Answer or respond to the allegations contained in the Complaint. Defendant's Answer must be filed within thirty-five (35) days in the Superior Court, Passaic County-Civil Division with a copy sent to Marc A. Ross, Esq., 245 Diamond Bridge Avenue, Hawthorne, New Jersey. As an Answer was not filed within the time prescribed by the Court, Default was entered against Defendant Emilio Diaz-Matos on March 13, 2026. A Proof Hearing has been scheduled for May 29, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Passaic County Superior Court, 71 Hamilton Street, Courtroom 350, Paterson, New Jersey before Judge Bruno Mongiardo.
