Re: Notification of Flood Hazard Revisions
To Germantown Residents:
The Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM) for a community depicts the floodplain, the area which has been determined to be subject to a 1% (100-year) or greater chance of flooding in any given year. The floodway is the portion of the floodplain that includes the channel of a river or other watercourse and the adjacent land area that must be reserved in order to discharge the base flood without cumulatively increasing the water-surface elevation by more than a designated height. The FIRM is used to help the community with floodplain management.
W.H. Porter Consultants, PLLC is applying for a Letter of Map Revision (LOMR) from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (DHS-FEMA) on behalf of the Farmington-Kimbrough Land Co LLC to revise FIRM Panels 47157C0456G for the City of Germantown, Tennessee along Wolf River Lateral C and Wolf River Lateral CA. W.H. Porter Consultants, PLLC is proposing to revise the FIRM to reflect the constructed bridges and stream modifications to Lateral C & CA, which are part of the Glasgow Planned Development project.
The City of Germantown, in accordance with National Flood Insurance Program regulation 65.7(b)(1), hereby give notice of the City and County's intent to revise the 1% annual chance (100-year) floodway along Wolf River Lateral C and Wolf River Lateral CA . Specifically, the floodway shall be revised along Wolf River Later C from approximately 1850 feet upstream of its confluence with the Wolf River to its confluence. The floodway will increase and decrease within the area of revision. Wolf River Later CA will be revised from approximately 1800 feet upstream of the confluence with the Wolf River to Farmington Boulevard. The floodway will decrease within the area of revision.
The LOMR will also result in:
1. Increase and decrease to the Base (1% annual chance) Flood Elevations (BFEs) along Wolf River Lateral C and Wolf River Lateral CA.
2. Widening and narrowing of the 1% annual chance floodplain along Wolf River Lateral C and Wolf River Lateral CA.
This letter is to inform you of flood hazard revisions on your three of your properties, which are located at located at 8750 Farmington Boulevard on Wolf River Boulevard and Parcel ID G0220000004830 and G0220000005160 in the Shelby County Register of Deeds.
