SHASTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE
At its regular meeting of November 18, 2025, the Board of Supervisors of the County of Shasta, will consider enacting the following ordinance:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORSOF THE COUNTY OF SHASTA
AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF SHASTA AND THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION OF THE CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES' RETIREMENT SYSTEM
In summary, the proposed ordinance amends the Retirement Contract between the Board of Supervisors of the County of Shasta and the Board of Administration of the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) to adopt Government Code Section 20516 (Employees Sharing Additional Cost) of one percent (1%) of the employer's contribution to retirement costs for miscellaneous members in the in the Unrepresented Elected Department Heads group, the Unrepresented Board of Supervisors group, the United Public Employees of California – Professional group, the Deputy Coroner's Investigators Unit, and 1% for local county peace officer members in the Professional Peace Officer Association. The proposed ordinance also authorizes the Chairman to sign the contract for the County of Shasta upon receipt of the final document from CalPERS.
The proposed ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect 30 days after its passage on November 18, 2025.
