STATEMENT OF COUNCIL PROCEEDINGS
April 24, 2026, 5:00 p.m.
Special Session
The City Council of Boone, Iowa, met in special session in the City Hall Council Chambers on April 24, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. with Mayor Casotti presiding. The meeting was also available via Zoom. The following Council Members were present: Hammer, Moorman, and Williamson. By Zoom: Henson, Kahookele, and Angstrom. Absent: Hilsabeck.
Chief Adams reported that Wilson's Tap failed to renew its alcohol license in a timely manner. He received notice from the Iowa ABD that the license had been canceled and informed Wilson's Tap that they were not permitted to serve alcohol. Wilson's Tap has since taken steps to reinstate the license, including paying a $300.00 fee to request a special meeting, and is seeking Council approval. Chief Adams noted that Monday would likely be the earliest the Iowa ABD could approve the license following Council action. Moorman expressed concern about holding a special Council meeting for a business that allowed its alcohol license to lapse, noting that it is the business's responsibility given it is their livelihood. He also suggested reviewing and potentially increasing the fee for special meetings. Angstrom moved; Williamson seconded to approve the Alcohol License renewal for Wilson's Tap. Ayes: Henson, Kahookele, Moorman, Williamson, Angstrom, and Hammer. Nays: none.
There being no further business to come before the Council the meeting was adjourned at 5:05 p.m.
