TOWNSHIP OF EAST BRUNSWICK FIRE DISTRICT NO. 1 NOTICE

TOWNSHIP OF EAST BRUNSWICK FIRE DISTRICT NO. 1 NOTICE NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of Fire Commissioners of Fire District No. 1, Township of East Brunswick, County of Middlesex, State of New Jersey, shall ask the legal voters of said Fire District on Saturday, February 21, 2026, between the hours of 2:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m., or longer if necessary, to approve or disapprove the proposed 2026 Budget. Said voting shall take place at Old Bridge Volunteer Fire Department, Station 2, Civic Center Fire House, 310 Rues Lane, East Brunswick, New Jersey. Fire District No. 1 comprises Election Districts 2, 6, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 21, 24, 26, 28, 30, 36, 37, 39, 40, part of 31 and part of 38 within the Township of East Brunswick. The legal voters of said Fire District shall also be asked to elect two (2) Commissioners, each for a three (3) year term, and one (1) Commissioner for a two (2) year unexpired term to serve on the Board of Fire Commissioners of Fire District No. 1. The closing date for the filing of a Petition of Nomination with the Clerk of the Board relative to being a candidate for said three (3) year terms and said two (2) year unexpired term shall be on Friday, January 23, 2026. All Nominating Petitions may be obtained by contacting the Board Office at 680 Old Bridge Turnpike, East Brunswick, New Jersey, (732)257-1505, Monday through Friday between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. The following separate Proposal shall be set forth on the ballot asking the legal voters of said District: To authorize acquisition, purchase, funding and financing, through notes, bonds, lease with an option to purchase and/or other evidence of indebtedness, of fire apparatus (ladder) and equipment.
