Tompkins County Department of Assessment 2026 Tentative Assessment Roll
Notice is hereby given that the Tentative Assessment Roll for 2026 has been completed: That a copy thereof has been electronically filed with the City Clerk, Town Clerks and Village Clerks in Tompkins County where it may be examined online by any person interested there in until the fourth Tuesday in May.
On the fourth Tuesday in May [May 26, 2026], the County Board of Assessment Review will meet at the Department of Assessment, 31 Dutch Mill Rd, between the hours of 10am to 2pm and 4pm to 8pm to hear and determine all verified written complaints presented.
In addition, beginning May 1st a limited number of appointments will be scheduled with the County Board of Assessment Review for May 26th from 10am to 2pm. You may schedule your appointment by calling 607-274-5517. Walk-in appointments will be from 4pm to 8pm on a first come first serve basis.
Pursuant to Section 501 of the New York State Real Property Tax Law, that the Tompkins County Department of Assessment has available for public review, assessment inventory and valuation data. The public may review this data Monday through Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm at the Department of Assessment at 31 Dutch Mill Rd, Ithaca NY 14850 or online at https://www.tompkinscountyny.gov/Government-Resources/Assessment and choose the Beacon-Assessment Information Portal.
Publications containing procedures for contesting an assessment are available at the Department of Assessment or online at https://www.tax.ny.gov/pit/property/contest/contestasmt.htm .
