PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Canandaigua Town Zoning Board of Appeals will be conducting public hearings on the applications listed below on Tuesday November 18, 2025, beginning at 6:00pm. Arif Motiwala is seeking approval of an Area Variance for a building coverage variance of 4.3% where 25% is the maximum and 29.3% is proposed for a shed tear-down and rebuild.
Ross Anderson is seeking approval of an Area Variance for a variance of 1564 sq ft when 2464 sq ft is proposed and the maximum size of an accessory structure on vacant land with no primary structure is 900 sq ft.
Kristi Koons is seeking approval of multiple Area Variances for an accessory building. She seeks relief from Town Code § 220-9 (B)(6) that prevents accessory buildings from being used as habitable space. Variance needed to provide relief from Town Code § 220-9 (B)(7)(b)[2] -- A total combined building footprint for all detached accessory buildings not exceeding 1,300 square feet plus 1% of the subject lot's area in square feet and rounded to the nearest hundred or 3,000 square feet, whichever is less.
Jerry Reinhart, 3467 County Road 16, Canandaigua is seeking approval of an Area Variance for a new single-family dwelling stream setback variance of 38.7 feet where 61.3 feet is proposed and 100 feet is required.
Erik Stoneham, 5441 Wells Curtice Road, Canandaigua, NY is seeking approval for an Area Variance for a height variance of two-foot for a garden fence in the front yard where four feet is maximum and a six-foot garden fence in the front yard is proposed.
Mark Laese, 3516 Sandy Beach Drive, Canandaigua, NY is seeking approval for multiple Area Variances for a proposed addition. A front setback variance of 12.9 feet is needed, where 42.1 feet is proposed and 55 feet is required. A lot coverage variance of 11.1% is needed, where 41.1% is proposed and 30% is maximum.
Douglas Finch, 6165 Knapp Road, Canandaigua, NY is seeking approval for approval for an Area Variance for a new single-family dwelling. Variance required for driveway where a side setback variance of 10 ft where a 10 ft minimum side setback is required and 0 ft is proposed.
Brett Berliner, 4410 Middle Cheshire Road, Canandaigua, NY is seeking approval for an Area Variance to allow relief from restrictions against ground mounted solar in the Scenic Viewshed Overlay District.
