Township of Bridgewater Zoning Board Notice of Public Hearing
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that Liquid Church a NJ Nonprofit Corporation (the "Applicant") has made application to the Bridgewater Township Zoning Board of Adjustment for minor site plan, conditional use variance, bulk variance and waiver approval in connection with the property known and designated as Block 400, Lot 5 and commonly referred to as 430 Route 22, Bridgewater, New Jersey (the "Property") The Property is located in the C-3 zone and is currently developed with a 3 story building, parking area and related site improvements.
With this application, the Applicant proposes to use the existing building, with some minor modifications, as a house of worship. A house of worship is a permitted conditional use in the C-3 zone and Section 126-353 of the Bridgewater Township Land Use Code sets forth the required conditions which include that the minimum yard setbacks in the zone be met. The building currently located on the Property is non-conforming as to the front yard and side yard setbacks. Accordingly, conditional use variance approval, pursuant to N.J.S.A 40:55D-70(d)(3), is required. In addition, "c" or bulk variance approval is also required for the number of parking spaces required by the Bridgewater Township Land Use Code. The proposed house of worship requires 462 parking spaces and there are 456 parking spaces at the Property. No changes to the parking lot are proposed.
The Applicant also seeks such other interpretations, approvals, deviations, variances, waivers, design exceptions and/or other relief from the Bridgewater Township Land Use Code as reflected in the plans and materials filed with the Zoning Board (as same may be amended or revised from time to time without further notice) or determined to be necessary or required during the review and processing of this application.
A public hearing will be held on this application on June 23, 2026 at 7:00 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, in the Bridgewater Township Municipal Courtroom, 100 Commons Way, Bridgewater, New Jersey at which time you may appear either in person or by agent or attorney and present any questions, concerns or statements which you may have with respect to this application. The application may be carried to future hearings without any additional public notice.
