Village East Fire Protection Regular Meeting Held on February 23, 2026 The board of Village East Fire Protection District met in regular session at its regular meeting place, Village East Fire Station, 100 Development St., Houma, LA, on Monday evening, February 23, 2026, at 6:00 P.M. Attendance THERE WERE PRESENT/ABSENT: Board Members: Nigel Hodgson (President) X Present Absent Cody Ritchey X Present Absent Roy Desmore Present X Absent Lydell Crochet X Present Absent Thomas Guidry (Treasurer) X Present Absent Quorum Met X Yes Employees/Guests: Armond Triche (Chief), Accountant The Board of Village East Fire Protection District was duly convened as the governing authority of said Fire District by Nigel Hodgson, President. The Board then led those in attendance with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America. The Board President called for public comment on any agenda items. There were no members of the public present wishing to speak. Approval of Minutes On a motion by Lydell Crochet, seconded by Thomas Guidry, Sr., the board accepted the minutes from the last meeting of December 15, 2025, as presented. The motion carried with all present in favor. Financial Report A financial status report was delivered to the Board by its accountant, Scott Jenkins. 2025 Legislative Auditor Questionnaire: Mr. Jenkins advised the board to approve the 2025 questionnaire attesting to compliance with all relevant laws for the annual audit. On a motion by Thomas Guidry, Sr., seconded by Cody Ritchey, the board approved the questionnaire. The motion carried with all present in favor. Old Business Truck Maintenance: Chief Triche reported that all pumpers have been repaired and are working. This included fixing air leaks and changing valves and components from the tanks. There was no further old business. New Business Consider and take action to purchase radios: Chief Triche and the board discussed upgrading the department's radios to meet current standards. The current Motorola radios are no longer serviced or supported. The board discussed purchasing 14 Motorola APX 6000XE portable radios to ensure all personnel have updated equipment. Consider and take action to add any additional agenda items: No additional items were added. There was no further new business.
