Adel City Council July 14, 2026 - Meeting Minutes CALL TO ORDER The Adel City Council met in regular session at the Community Room in the Adel Public Library, 303 S. 10th Street, Adel, Iowa on Tuesday, July 14, 2026. At 6:00 p.m., Mayor Crannell called the meeting to order. ROLL CALL The following Council Members answered roll: Ockerman, McAdon, Trout, and Hawkins. The following Council Member was absent: West. Staff Present: City Administrator Vick, Deputy City Administrator/Finance Director Sandquist, City Clerk Erickson, Police Chief Book, Public Works Director Overton, Library Director Jayne, and Parks & Recreation Director Schenck. APPROVAL OF THE AGENDA Motion by Ockerman, seconded by McAdon, to approve the agenda . Roll: Ayes - Unanimous. Motion Carried. PROCLAMATION 4.a. Consider Approval of Mayor Board and Commission Appointments: Historic Preservation Commission - One Opening Motion by Hawkins, seconded by Trout, to appoint Ben Hengesteg to the Historic Preservation Commission. Consider Approval to Receive and Adopt the 2026-2028 Goal Setting Session Report Motion by Trout, seconded by Hawkins, to receive and adopt the 2026-2028 Goal-Setting Session Report. Roll: Ayes - Unanimous. Motion Carried. 8.c. Consider Approval of Resolution No. 26-78, Approving the Task Order 003 - Water Model Update Motion by Ockerman, seconded by Trout, to approve Resolution No. 26-78. Roll: Ayes - Unanimous. Motion Carried. 8.d. Consider Approval of Resolution No. 26 -79, Approving an Agreement for Professional Services with Short Elliott Hendrickson, Inc. (SEH) for the FY 27 HMA Restoration Project (Resurfacing North 15th Street and Grove Street) Motion by Hawkins, seconded by Ockerman, to approve Resolution No. 26-79. Roll: Ayes - Unanimous. Consider Approval of Resolution No. 26-80, Approving the Professional Services Agreement Between the City of Adel and DDA Human Resources, Inc. for a Full Classification and Compensation Study Motion by Hawkins, seconded by Ockerman, to approve Resolution No. 26-80.
