CALL TO ORDER
The Adel City Council met in regular session at the Community Room in the Adel Public Library, 303 S. 10th Street, Adel, Iowa on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. At 6:00 p.m., Mayor Crannell called the meeting to order.
ROLL CALL
The following Council Members answered roll: Ockerman, Trout, McAdon, West, and Hawkins.
Staff Present: City Administrator Vick, Deputy City Administrator/Finance Director Sandquist, City Clerk Erickson, Public Works Director Overton, Police Chief Book, Library Director Jayne, Parks & Recreation Director Schenck, Fire Chief Nemechek, Firefighter Smith, Firefighter Garrett, Firefighter Osborn, and Firefighter Peters.

Motion by Ockerman, seconded by Hawkins, to approve the agenda.

PUBLIC HEARING
4.a. Public Hearing for the Fiscal Year 2025-2026 Budget Amendments
Motion by West, seconded by Trout, to open the public hearing at 6:01 p.m.
Roll: Ayes - Unanimous. Motion Carried.
Sandquist reviewed the proposed budget amendments.
Motion by McAdon, seconded by Ockerman, to close the public hearing at 6:05 p.m.
Roll: Ayes - Unanimous. Motion Carried.
COMMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC
Natalie Del Vecchio, 6565 Wistful Vista Drive, West Des Moines, from the Dallas County Health Department, presented information to the Council about a walking group called "Hitting the Bricks" that will be starting in June.
