Advertisement for Bid
Sealed bids will be received at the Portage County Office of Internal Services, Portage County Administration Building, 449 South Meridian Street, Ravenna, Ohio until 2:00 p.m October 1, 2025 at which time will be publicly opened and read aloud. The bid opening will be held in the lobby of the Office of Internal Services located at the back of the Portage County Administration Building off Chestnut Street.
The proposed work under this contract consists of upgrading Jagow Park with ADA walkways, ADA accessible borders with ramps and ADA playground ground surface. Jagow Park is located at 11617 Garfield Road (next to the Hiram Village Hall and Administration Building)
Estimate of Probable Construction Cost:
$130,000.00

All bids must be submitted on the bid forms included in the Contract Documents.
Each bid must be accompanied by a "Bid Guarantee" in either of the following two forms: Option "A" - a bid bond in the full amount of the bid or Option "B" - a certified check or cashier's check in the sum of 10 percent of the amount of the bid. Bid security furnished in bond form shall be issued by a surety company or corporation licensed in the State of Ohio to provide said surety.
The Bid Guarantee is conditioned to provide that if the Bid is accepted and awarded the Bidder will enter into a contract with the County and will file a Performance Bond as required.
The Bidder to whom the Contract is awarded will be required to furnish a Performance Bond in the sum of 100 percent of the contract price for the faithful performance of the Contract. If the Bidder selects "Bid Guarantee" Option "A", the Bidder may use this Bond as the Performance Bond.
Each bid must contain the full name of the party or parties submitting the proposal and all persons interested therein. Each Bidder must submit evidence of his experience on projects of similar size and complexity.
Each Proposal must be sealed and marked:
"Jagow Park ADA Upgrade"
The Portage County Board of Commissioners reserves the right to waive any informality or to reject any and all bids or portions thereof.
No bidder may withdraw his bid within thirty days (30) after the actual date of the opening thereof.
The contractor should be aware that this project is funded with a grant using federal funds and all HUD requirements must be met. Bids will be evaluated at a minimum on experience on similar projects and cost.
The contractor shall provide proof of Workers' Compensation and Liability Insurance with the bid.
The successful bidder must comply with Equal Employment requirements as specified in Executive Order 11246 and 11375.
Bids must be received no later than 2:00 p.m. on October 1, 2025.
