ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS SEALED BID PROPOSALS will be received by Mountain Brook Schools, at the Board of Education Administration Building, 32 Vine Street, Mountain Brook, AL 35213, until 2:00PM Local Time, THURSDAY, MARCH 12, 2026 for the MOUTAIN BROOK HIGH SCHOOL RE-ROOFING PROJECTS: BID PACKAGE-A: FINE ARTS CENTER RE-ROOFING and BID PACKAGE-B: COMPETITION GYMNASIUM RE-ROOFING at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read aloud. General Contractor's License Number and Type must be on the outside of each bid envelope. Bids submitted without the GC license number on outside of the envelope will not be accepted. A cashier's check or bid bond payable to Mountain Brook Schools in an amount not less than five (5) percent of the amount of the bid, but in no event more than $10,000, must accompany the bidder's proposal. Performance and Payment Bonds and evidence of insurance required in the Bid Documents will be required at the signing of the Contract. PRE-BID CONFERENCE IS MANDATORY and will be conducted FOR BOTH BID PACKAGES at the project site (3650 Bethune Drive, Mountain Brook, AL 35223) at 4:00PM, Tuesday, March 3RD, 2026 for the purpose of reviewing the scope of both bid packages and answering questions. Meet at the front lobby entrance of the HIGH SCHOOL because access to the facility is very limited due to security. Attendance at the Pre-Bid Conference is MANDATORY for all General Contractor Bidders intending to submit a Proposal. Bids from General Contractors not attending the Pre-Bid Conference will not be accepted. Drawings and Project Manual for both bid packages will be available beginning February 23rd, 2026 and may be examined at the office of the Architect; Dodge Data Analytics, and ConstructConnect. Bid documents (Plans, Specifications, and Addenda) will be sent to qualified General Contractors only from the Architect; electronically with no deposit required. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the provision of Title 34, Chapter 8. Code of Alabama, 1975, and must show evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by the architect; the bidder must show such evidence by clearly displaying its current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered. The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all proposals and to waive technical errors if, in the Owner's judgment, the best interests of the Owner will thereby be promoted.
