ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
The CITY OF CLARENCE will receive Bids for CLARENCE LAGOON RIPRAP until 1:00PM local time on AUGUST 11, 2026, at CITY HALL, 200 E. BEECH ST, P.O. BOX 9, CLARENCE, MISSOURI 63437 at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
Bids are invited upon the items and quantities of work as follows:
Base Bid - The work consists of the installation of 4500 tons of riprap on the inside of the lagoon berms as shown in the Plans.
Nondiscrimination in Employment:
"Bidders on this work will be required to comply with the President's Executive Order Number 11246. Requirements for bidders and contractors under this order are explained in the specifications"
Award of Contract: The contract award will be awarded only to responsible contractors possessing the ability to perform successfully which will be determined by considering such matters as contractor integrity, compliance with public policy, record of past performance, and financial and technical resources.
Bidding documents including Drawings and Project Manual will be available from the City of Clarence, Missouri, by contacting Dennie Carothers at 660-699-2270 or by picking up a physical copy at City Hall. Technical questions regarding interpretations of the bidding documents shall be directed to Dennie Carothers at 660-699-2270, or denniec@clarencemo.gov. A certified check or bank draft, payable to the order of City of Clarence, Missouri, negotiable U.S. Government bonds (at par value) or a satisfactory Bid Bond executed by the Bidder and an acceptable surety in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total Bid shall be submitted with each Bid. IMPORTANT – Surety companies executing BONDS must appear on the Treasury Department's most current list (Circular 570 as amended) and be authorized to transact business in Missouri.
Attention is called to the fact that no less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the Contract Documents must be paid on this project, and that the Contractor must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of their race, color, religion, sex or national origin.
The CITY OF CLARENCE reserves the right to reject any or all Bids or to waive any informality in the bidding. Bids may be held by CITY OF CLARENCE for a period not to exceed 45 days from the date of the opening of Bids for the purpose of reviewing the Bids and investigating the qualifications of Bidders, prior to awarding of the Contract.
