Announcement of Pacific Gas and Electric Company's
Joint Agency and Public Meeting – July 13, 2026
for FERC Project No. 5536
Pardee Tap No. 2 and Camanche Tap Transmission Line Project
Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) owns and holds the existing Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) license for the Pardee Tap No. 2 and Camanche Tap Transmission Line Project, FERC Project No. 5536, a transmission line only project in Amador, Calaveras, and San Joaquin counties, California. The existing Project consists of two primary lines: the Pardee Tap No. 2 and Camanche Tap. Pardee Tap No. 2 is a single circuit, 60 kilovolt (kV) line, extending from East Bay Municipal Utility District's (EBMUD) Pardee powerhouse, which is located below the Pardee Reservoir and Dam to PG&E's Pardee switching station. Camanche Tap is a 6.74-mile long, single-circuit, 115kV line, extending from EBMUD's Camanche powerhouse, which is adjacent to the Mokelumne River Fish Hatchery at Camanche Reservoir. The current FERC license for the project expires on March 31, 2031.
On March 30, 2026, PG&E filed with FERC a Notice of Intent to File an Application for New License (NOI), a Pre-Application Document (PAD), and a request to use the Traditional Licensing Process (TLP) to renew the FERC license.
On June 12, 2026, FERC approved PG&E's request to use the TLP. The NOI and PAD are available in electronic format on FERC's eLibrary.
As required under 18 Code of Federal Regulations Section 16.8 of FERC's regulations describing the pre-filing requirements that need to be completed when preparing an application for a hydropower license under the TLP, PG&E will hold a joint agency and public meeting on July 13, 2026, from 9:00-11:00 a.m. (Pacific Daylight Time) at PG&E's office and virtually using the Microsoft Teams platform. PG&E will issue an invite with meeting information to interested stakeholders for the Joint Meeting. The meeting will be recorded.
