NOTICE OF MEETING
The Bay Township Zoning Board of Appeals will meet on Monday, October 27, 2025 at 6:00 P.M. The meeting will be held in the Bay Township Hall, in the Village of Horton's Bay, 05045 Boyne City Road, Boyne City, MI 49712. The purpose of the meeting is to hear the following appeal for variances from the requirements of the Bay Township Zoning Ordinance, as amended (the Ordinance).
In the Matter of: Johnson Family Trust
Charlevoix County Property Tax Identification Number 15-001-006-010-00, located on property commonly known as 7638 Valley Brook Ave, Boyne City, MI 49712. The applicant is proposing the addition of a 10x20 accessory building within the rear and side yard setbacks.
To accomplish this project the applicant is seeking a variance from Article V, General Provisions, Section 5.4 Lot Area, Lot Width and Setback Requirements and Section 5.5 Waterfront Overlay District Residential Zoning Standards and Lot Size Requirements. Section 5.4 states side yard setbacks in Residential Districts are 15'. Section 5.5 states that rear yard setbacks in the Waterfront Overlay District are 35'. The applicant requests a 12' rear yard setback and a 3' side yard setback.
