RESOLUTION #2026-01
2026 ANNUAL MEETING NOTICE
WHEREAS, the Open Public Meeting Act of 1975, P.L. 1975, c.231, requires public bodies to provide notice of all meetings in an effort to enhance the proper functioning of democratic processes, and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Commission to implement and adhere to the provisions of said act.
1.Pursuant to the provisions of N.J.S.A. 10.4-1 et seq. including Section 13, the Historic Preservation Advisory Commission of Beach Haven (hereinafter referred to as HPAC) hereby designates the following dates for its regular meetings unless otherwise modified by resolution of this Commission. Formal action will be taken and closed sessions may be held. Such meetings shall commence at 4:00 P.M. and shall be held in the Beach Haven Municipal Building, 300 Engleside Ave., Beach Haven, New Jersey on the following dates:
Tuesday, February 24, 2026 4pm
Tuesday, March 31, 2026 4pm
Tuesday, April 28, 2026 4pm
Tuesday, May 26, 2026 4pm
Tuesday, June 30, 2026 4pm
Tuesday, July 28, 2026 4pm
Tuesday, August 25, 2026 4pm
Tuesday, September 29, 2026 4pm
Tuesday, October 27, 2026 4pm
Tuesday, November 24, 2026 4pm
Tuesday, January 26, 2027 4pm
2.The Board also establishes the date, time, and place for its first meeting of 2026, as January 27, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., at the Beach Haven Municipal Building, 300 Engleside Avenue, Beach Haven, New Jersey. This will be the reorganization meeting and will establish the "Annual Notice," and the selection of the slate of officers.
3.Agendas for these meetings may be accessed on the Borough website www.beachhaven-nj.gov on the "Historic Preservation Advisory Commission" tab, by clicking the date of the meeting, which can be found on a list on the right-hand side of the page, under "Meeting Schedule." The agenda of all HPAC meetings, to the extent known, shall be as follows:

4.A copy of this resolution, containing the regularly scheduled and caucus meetings, shall be posted and maintained throughout the year, prominently on the Borough website and on a board reserved for such or similar announcements, located in Borough Hall.
5.The following website is hereby designated as the official website for public notices of the Commission, https://beachhaven-nj.gov/legal-notices/. Effective, March 1, 2026, this site shall be used to publish legal notices. A copy of this link shall be sent to the Secretary of State to post on their legal notice's website. Prior to March 1, 2026, this site may be used to publish legal notices, but all such notices shall continue to be published in the Beach Haven Times or the Asbury Park Press, which shall continue to serve as official newspapers of the Board, through February 28, 2026.
6.A copy of this resolution shall be mailed to the following newspapers circulating in Ocean County:
a.Beach Haven Times
b. Asbury Park Press
7.The following newspapers are hereby designated as official newspapers of HPAC and may be used to publish legal notices.
a. Beach Haven Times
b. The Asbury Park Press
8.A copy of this resolution shall be filed with the Municipal Clerk of the Borough of Beach Haven.
9.In the event that a meeting described in paragraph 1 above is rescheduled, HPAC shall, in accordance with the Open Public Meetings Act, post, mail and submit such revision, as required by law, including posting electronically.
10. In accordance with N.J.S.A. 10:4-9(b), upon the affirmative vote of 2/3 of HPAC commissioners present, HPAC may hold a meeting without compliance with the notice requirements of this resolution if such meeting is required to deal with matters of such urgency and importance that delays for the purpose of providing adequate notice would be likely to result in substantial harm to the public interest.
