2026 RENOVATION - - A PREVAILING WAGE PROJECT
WORK DESCRIPTION: Exterior renovations to existing school building (siding, trims, finishes, rot repair, etc.); site demo, excavation, and regrading; drainage installation; egress ramp reconstruction; basketball court and walk installation; and miscellaneous related work. Bidders are notified that this is a PREVAILING WAGE project in accordance with Owner policy. Refer to specification section 009000 and 009001.

PRE- BID MEETING – MANDATORY
A Mandatory Pre-Bid meeting will be held for pre-qualified bidders only at the offices of Greenwald & BC Inc., 1970 Airway Dr., Mt. Pleasant, Michigan 48858 on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at 1:00 PM, via in-person or video-conference attendance. Bidders must be pre-qualified by 2 PM on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, in order to attend the Mandatory Pre-Bid meeting. Contact Greenwald & BC to obtain a Pre-Bid meeting link. All bidders must attend the Mandatory Pre-Bid meeting in-person or via video-conference in order to submit a bid.
BID PROPOSAL DUE DATE AND LOCATION
Lump-sum sealed proposals will be received by hard-copy delivery or mail at the office of Beaver Island Community School, 37895 Kings Hwy., Beaver Island, MI 49782. Submit bid on the supplied form in an opaque envelope clearly marked with 1) Your company name; 2) the label "BICS 2026 RENOVATION"; and 3) The work scope & trade work that the proposal covers. Mailed proposals must be enclosed in a separate outer mailing envelope. Proposals may also be submitted via email as a single *.pdf file. sent to WilC@BeaverIsland.k12.mi.us. Receipt of email submittals will be acknowledged by return email. Proposal must be received no later than 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 04, 2026.
BASIS OF AWARD:
Bids shall be sealed and shall be opened by the Superintendent or designee in the presence of at least one witness, and will be awarded with consideration given to A) the quality of the item(s) to be supplied; B) its conformity with specifications; C) suitability to the requirements of the school; D) delivery terms; and E) past performance of vendor. (refer to policy po6320). The Board reserves the right to reject to reject any and all bids.

All questions must be submitted as a Request for Information (RFI) during the bidding period shall be referred to Greenwald & B.C. via email as indicated in the Bidding Documents.
The cut-off date for RFIs will be Friday, February 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM.
