BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF MOUNT HOLLY FIRE DISTRICT NO.1 TOWNSHIP OF MOUNT HOLLY NOTICE OF RESOLUTION, SECOND READING, AND PUBLIC HEARING Appointing the Director of Fire Services and Authorizing Chairwoman to Negotiate Employment Agreement with Fire Director WHEREAS, the Board of Fire Commissioners of Fire District No. 1 ("District"), Township of Mount Holly, County of Burlington, State of New Jersey, is charged with the responsibility of fire prevention and suppression and the regulation of fire hazards within the District, in addition to other incidental and necessary fire service related activities and duties; and WHEREAS, in furtherance of the mandated responsibilities of the District as described above, the Board created the paid position of Director of Fire Services pursuant to and in accordance with the N.J.S.A. 40A:14-81.1 to administer the day-to-day activities and affairs of the District; and WHEREAS, the Board has adopted a description of the employment duties for said position within the Mount Holly Fire District No. 1 Board of Fire Commissioners Handbook ("Handbook"); and WHEREAS, the Board conducted a search for a qualified candidate for said position; and WHEREAS, the Board found a candidate with the desired experience and qualifications. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of Fire Commissioners of the Fire District No. 1, Township of Mount Holly, County of Burlington, State of New Jersey that, JASON R. CARTY, hereby be appointed to the position of Director of Fire Services; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, the powers, functions and duties of the Director of Fire Services as set forth in the Handbook be incorporated into this Resolution by reference herein; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Chairwoman Nicole Saucier hereby be authorized to negotiate an employment agreement with Jason R. Carty, to include the term of service and compensation for the Director of Fire Services, subject to approval of the Board of Fire Commissioners by separate resolution; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution shall be effective upon final passage, to occur at least ten (10) days after the first reading, and after its adoption, as required by law; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that an original signed, conformed and compared copy of this Resolution shall be accessible and maintained as an official Board record in accordance with the "Open Public Records Act," N.J.S.A. 47:1A-1 et seq., and the "Destruction of Public Records Law," N.J.S.A. 47:3-8.1 et seq. as set forth by the State of New Jersey Municipal Agency Record Retention Schedule promulgate by the Division of Archives and Record Management. NOTICE is hereby given that the above Resolution No. 2025-048 was introduced and passed upon First Reading at a Special Meeting of the Board of Fire Commissioners of Fire District No. 1, Township of Mount Holly, County of Burlington, State of New Jersey, on September 19, 2025, and will be considered for Final Passage at the Regular Meeting of said Board of Fire Commissioners to be held on October 1, 2025 at 7:00 p.m. at the Relief Fire Station, located at 17 Pine Street, Mount Holly, New Jersey, at which time and place any person wishing to be heard shall be given the opportunity to be heard. PLEASE BE FURTHER ADVISED that copies of Resolution No. 2025-048 shall be made available to each person requesting a copy of same prior to the Second Reading of said Resolution and during the hearing concerning said Resolution.
