Monday, April 6, 2026, Committee Room at South Milwaukee City Hall, 2424 15th Avenue, South Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mayor Jim Shelenske called the Common Council special meeting to order at 6:00 PM. 6 Alderpersons were present. MOTION by Briesemeister/Pieper to convene into closed session pursuant to Wis. Stats. 19.85(1)(c), considering employment, promotion, compensation, or performance evaluation data of any public employee over which the governmental body has jurisdiction or exercises responsibility, for the purpose of considering and discussing the appointment of Travis Wells to the position of City Administrator. Upon roll call, motion carried 6-0. MOTION by Pieper/Clark to return to open session and take any necessary action on closed session items. Upon roll call, motion carried 6-0. MOTION by Briesemeister/Clark to appoint Travis Wells as the City Administrator effective May 26, 2026. Motion carried 6-0. Travis Wells addressed and thanked the Council for the opportunity to serve the South Milwaukee community. MOTION by Pieper/Bartoshevich to adjourn the meeting at 6:30 p.m. Motion carried 6-0.
