CITY OF WORCESTER PROPOSED LOAN ORDER
The City Council of the City of Worcester at a meeting held in City Hall on March 17, 2026 voted to advertise the following on a roll call vote of Eleven Yeas and No Nays: (HOLDEN SEWER SETTLEMENT) ORDERED that the sum of Twenty-Five Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($25,500,000) is hereby appropriated to PRJ-100322 – Holden Sewer Settlement to pay the final judgement rendered against the City of Worcester in Town of Holden v. Department of Conservation and Recreation and the City of Worcester (Civil Action No. 1385CV00910), including the costs incidental and related thereto, and that to meet this appropriation the City Treasurer, with the approval of the City Manager, is hereby authorized to borrow the sum of Twenty-Five Million Five Hundred Thousand Dollars ($25,500,000) under and pursuant to M.G.L. c. 44, §7(3), as amended and supplemented, or any other enabling authority, and to issue bonds or notes of the City therefor. BE IT FURTHER ORDERED that the City Manager be and he is hereby authorized to take any action necessary or convenient to carry out this loan order and that the City Treasurer and Collector of Taxes be and he is hereby authorized to apply and appear before the Municipal Finance Oversight Board to request a period of time longer than one (1) year to repay the principal and interest on the borrowing approved by this loan order, and to provide such information and execute such documents as the board may require in accordance with M.G.L. c. 44, § 7(3).
