CITY OF YREKA CITY COUNCIL MEETING NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Yreka City Council will hold a public hearing at 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, October 21st, 2025, in the Council Chambers, 701 Fourth Street, Yreka, California. Master Fee Schedule: The City of Yreka is proposing a Master Fee Schedule update for the 2026 calendar year in conjunction with the Building, Planning, Community Facilities, Finance, Public Works, Fire, and City Clerk departments. The fee schedule update will be applied to applications and licensing of various uses, lots, and structures within the city, including current and long-range projects. The fee schedule also includes deposits and fees associated with various community facility rentals within the City. The proposed update would bring fees up to date and account for staff time on applications, licenses, and projects. Environmental Review: The proposed action has been determined to meet the guidelines for exemption under Section 15273(a)(1) "Rates, Tolls, Fares, and Charges" of the State California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines. This proposed fee schedule update is a statutory exemption as CEQA does not apply to the establishment, modification, structuring, or restructuring of rates, tolls, fares, or other charges by public agencies which the public agency finds are for the purpose of meeting operating expenses, including employee wage rates and fringe benefits. Public Comment: Public comment may be given on this project in several ways: 1) By emailing arocalezra@yrekaca.gov. Please identify the specific item you are commenting on; 2) By mailing written comments to City Hall, 701 4th Street, Yreka, CA 96097; 3) attending the public hearing at City Council on the noted date, time, and location above in person. If a member of the public wishes to challenge the proposed project, comments may be limited to only those issues raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered prior to the public hearing.
