In Memoriam

Sophie M. Hill Feb. 2, 1923- Nov. 17, 2010 It has been 15 years since Sophie passed away. She was born, raised, and died in El Paso, TX. In between she was a wife to Howard, a military man, a mother to 3, a grandmother to 7, and ultimately had 11 great- grand descendants. Her main employment was at Beaumont Hospital with civil service working in several clinics there. While her son Howard J. was a US Air Force POW she was very active in the release of the prisoners. She was always supportive of her daughter Jean who was teacher in Fabens for 30 years. Sophie was also supportive of her other son Stan who was in restaurant management in the El Paso and Las Cruces area for 17 years, plus 3 in Albuquerque. At this time Sophie is survived by Howard J. and wife Libby, Stan and wife Elsa, as well as the 18 in the next 2 generations. Jean passed away in July 2010.
