INVITATION FOR BIDS
The Housing Authority of the City of Brownwood, Texas (hereinafter called the "Brownwood Housing Authority") Acting as the General Contractor will be responsible for the purchase of materials, fixtures, and appliances used in this project. The Brownwood Housing Authority will receive sealed subcontractor bids for individual contracts for all aspects of the work including: Site Work, Wood Fencing, Concrete Work, Masonry, Rough Carpentry, Finish Carpentry, Roofing, Flashing & Sheet Metal, Doors & Hardware, Windows & Screens, Gypsum Drywall, Ceramic Tile, Flooring, Tape, Bed, Texture and Painting, Pre-Fabricated Cabinets and Counter Tops, Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing for the Modernization of up to Ten (10) Public Housing units, including demolition, alterations and all work specified and/or shown on included drawings (if any). The Subcontractor(s) will be responsible for all incidentals including but not limited to, fasteners, fittings, fillers, glue, drywall tape and drywall finishing products. Immediately thereafter all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The work included in this Bid Request shall be carried out throughout the following Twelve (12) months of Fiscal Year beginning July 1, 2026 as units become available.
Proposed forms of contract documents, including plans (if any), and specifications, are on file and available for inspection at the office of the Brownwood Housing Authority. Copies of the documents may be obtained by depositing $50.00. Such deposits will be refunded upon return of the drawings (if any), specifications and other documents in good condition within 30 days after bid opening. Drawings and specifications that have been taken apart are not considered in good condition.
A PRE BID CONFERENCE will be held Thursday, June 4, 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Brownwood Housing Authority
A certified check or bank draft, payable to the Brownwood Housing Authority, U.S. Government Bonds, or a satisfactory bid bond executed by the bidder and acceptable surety in an amount equal to five ( 5%) percent of the bid shall be submitted with each bid. The BID BOND shall be from a Company which is on the U. S. Treasury Department List, as an approved Surety Company.
The successful bidder will be required to furnish and pay for satisfactory performance and payment bond or bonds (if requested), workers compensation, automobile liability and builder's risk.
Attention is called to the provisions for Equal Employment Opportunity as set forth in these documents. Attention is called to the fact that not less than the minimum salaries and wages as set forth in the specifications must be paid on this project.
The Brownwood Housing Authority reserves the right to reject any or all bids and to waive any informalities in the bidding process. No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of sixty days subsequent to the opening of the bids without the consent of the Brownwood Housing Authority.
