Invitation to Bid
The Pope County Board of Commissioners is accepting bids to provide an ambulance service for the transportation of the sick and injured and maintain an ambulance service in the geographical area encompassed by Pope County, Illinois. The ambulance service to be provided shall be in compliance with any and all statutes, regulations, orders and standards prescribed and required by the State of Illinois, or by any Department or division thereof. All ambulances, equipment and personnel must be certified by the Illinois Department of Public Health. Additional requirements are there must be one contracted ambulance to be dedicated to emergency runs in Pope County, Illinois and shall station and base the ambulance in Pope County, Illinois. All other ambulances available for surge events or other calls will be available to Pope County, Illinois but shall not be required to be stationed or based in Pope County, Illinois. All ambulance personnel will be placed primarily with the contracted ambulance. The ambulance service provided shall require the maintenance and operation of one ambulance unit 24 hours a day, 365 days a year available for service in Pope County, Illinois. Bidder shall pay all premiums and deductibles regarding comprehensive liability insurance, maintain comprehensive automobile liabiltiy insurance and worker's compensation insurance. Bids shall be accepted until 4:00 p.m. on October 27, 2025, by mail or may be dropped off at the Pope County Courthouse, Board of Commissioners Office or County Clerk's office, 310 East Main, P.O. Box 219, Golconda, Illinois 62938. The bids will be opened at the regularly scheduled meeting of the Pope County Board of Commissioners on October 28,2025 at 6:00 p.m. Pope County reserves the right to accept or reject any bid and may award the contract to the lowest responsible bidder.
