Legal Notice of Results of 2026 Annual Organizational Meeting of the Newport Joint Fire District On January 13, 2026 the Newport Joint Fire District Board of Fire District Commissioners conducted its annual organizational meeting and adopted motions to: Swear newly elected commissioner Andrew Tolpa. into office Appoint commissioner Andrew Tolpa as the Fire District Chairman Appoint Joseph De Francisco as the Secretary/Treasurer Establish the Third Tuesday of each month at 7:00pm at the Newport Fire Station as the date and time for regular monthly meetings Designated the M&T Bank as the District's depositories of District funds Designated the Herkimer Times Telegram as the newspaper of record Designated Terrence Hannigan PLLC as legal counsel, and Appointed the current roster of active members of the Newport Fire Company #4 into active membership in the Newport Joint Fire District, and Appointed David Jones as Department Chief; Timothy McEvoy as First Assistant Chief; and Shannon McEvoy as 2nd Assistant Chief, and Designated the bulletin board adjacent to the Southern entrance to the fire station as the place where public notices will be displayed. In accordance with the newly defined calendar of official meetings, the next meeting of the Newport Joint Fire District will be conducted on Tuesday night February 17, 2026 at 7:00pm at the fire station at 7370 State Rt. 28.
