The regular meetings of the Planning Commission and Board of Building and Zoning Appeals will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026, beginning at 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. The meetings will be held at City Hall, 1st floor Council Chambers, 538 North Market Street, Wooster, Ohio.
The Planning Commission will hold public hearings for the following application at their meeting, which will begin at 6:30 pm: PC-25-32 Jinhui Xie requesting approval from the Planning Commission and a recommendation to the City Council for a Zoning Map Amendment to change the zoning of parcel 67-00151.000 (3473 Burbank Road), approximately 0.37 acres between Burbank Road and SR 83, from R-1 (Suburban Single-Family Residential) to C-3 (General Commercial) zoning district. PC-26-3 Matt Babcock, requesting approval for a Conditional Use permit for a self-storage facility at 225 Branstetter Street with permanent parcel number 68-02139.000 in an I-2 (General Industrial) zoning district. PC-26-4 John Rice with the City of Wooster, requesting approval for a Conditional Use permit for a public parking lot on the south side of North Street, west of Beall, with permanent parcel numbers 64-01877.000, 64-02258.000, 64-00564.000, 64-02762.000, and 64-01219.000 in a C-4 (Central Business) zoning district. PC-26-6 John Long is requesting Final Development plan approval for an 84-unit development consisting of single and multi-unit structures, a clubhouse, and a recreation area on 18.1 acres located on the west side of Burbank Road with parcel number 67-00236.000, in a Planned Development (PD) Zoning District.
The Board of Building and Zoning Appeals will hold public hearings for the following applications at their meeting, which will begin at 7:30 pm: BZA-26-1 Jinhui Xie requesting an area variance from Planning and Zoning Code Section 1115.04 (a) minimum lot area for a proposed lot proposed as a C-3 (General Commercial) zoning district on parcel number 67-00151.000 located at 3473 Burbank Road, in an R-1 (Suburban Single-Family) Residential Zoning District. BZA-26-3 Cindy Vellucci with Archer Sign requesting an area variance from Planning and Zoning Code Section 1127.10(d)(2) to allow a freestanding sign that exceeds the permitted height and area at 1058 West Old Lincoln Way (Parcel Number 64-00045.000) in an I-2 (General Industrial) zoning district. BZA-26-4 Tim Tomic requesting a Use Variance from Planning and Zoning Code Section 1109.02(d) to allow single-family attached dwelling units (duplex) in an R-T (Traditional Residential) zoning district at 338 Maiden Lane with parcel number 65-01221.000.
All interested parties are welcome to attend and will have the opportunity to address the Commission and Board during the public hearing portion of the meetings, as well as submit evidence and written comments regarding the applications. Special auxiliary aids for individuals with disabilities are available upon request, provided at least five days' notice is given prior to the meeting.
