NOTICE OF FILING OF APPLICATION FOR CAMA MAJOR DEVELOPMENT PERMIT The Department of Environmental Quality hereby gives public notice as required by NCGS 113A-119(b) that the following applications were submitted for a development permit in Areas of Environmental Concern as designated under the CAMA: On July 10, 2026, Harmony Hospitality, Inc. proposed to redevelop two (2) oceanfront parcels and six (6) adjacent, non-oceanfront parcels. Redevelopment would include a combination of these parcels divided between the hotel site (west side of Carolina Beach Avenue North) and the oceanfront pavilion site (east side of Carolina Beach Avenue North) at 2326 Carolina Beach Ave. N, adj. to the Atlantic Ocean in Carolina Beach, New Hanover County. Copies of these applications can be examined or copied at the office of Hannah Mitchell N.C. Dept. of Environmental Quality, Division of Coastal Management, 127 Cardinal Drive Ext., Wilmington, NC 28405, (910) 796-7230 during normal business hours. Comments mailed to Tancred Miller, Director, Division of Coastal Management, 400 Commerce Avenue, Morehead City, NC 28557-3421, prior to August 6, 2026 will be considered in making the permit decision. Later comments will be accepted and considered up to the time of permit decision. Project modification may occur based on review and comment by the public and state and federal agencies.
