NOTICE OF PERMISSIVE REFERENDUM At its July 16, 2025, regular meeting, the Board of Fire Commissioners of New Castle Fire District No. 1 authorized the sale of a surplus vehicle, a 2019 Chevrolet Tahoe, VIN 1GNSKFEC9KR334588, that the vehicle value is more than $20,000 but less than $100,000. Should the residents of New Castle Fire District No. 1 desire to protest the adoption of the resolution authorizing said sale, they may do so by petition which shall be: signed by resident taxpayers owning taxable real property in the District aggregating at least one-quarter of the assessed valuation of all of the taxable real property in the District owned by resident taxpayers; and acknowledged or proved in the same manner as a deed to be recorded or authenticated in the manner provided by election law for authentication of nominating petitions. Said petition must be filed with the Board of Fire Commissioners within thirty (30) days of the date of the first publication of this notice.
