Notice of Public Hearing TOWN OF WEST ALMOND NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING LOCAL LAW NO. 1 OF 2025 to OVERRIDE THE TAX LEVY LIMIT ESTABLISHED IN GENERAL MUNICIPAL LAW PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that a proposed Local Law is under consideration by Town Board of The Town of West Almond, New York, designated as: Local Law No. 1 of 2025 to override the tax levy limit established in General Municipal Law § 3-c. PLEASE TAKE NOTICE: that the intent of the proposed Local Law is to override the limit on the amount of real property taxes that may be levied by the Town of West Almon, County of Allegany pursuant to General Municipal Law § 3 c, and to allow the Town of West Amond, County of Allegany to adopt a town budget of (a) town purposes (b) fire protection and (c) any other special or improvement district governed by the town board for the fiscal year 2026 that a requires a real property tax levy in excess of the "tax levy Limit" as defined by General Municipal Law § 3 c. PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that said proposed Local Law is on file in the Town of West Almond Town Clerk's Office located at 2769 County Rd. 2, West Almond, New York, where it is available for public inspection during regular business hours. PLEASE TAKE FURTHER NOTICE, that a Public Hearing upon said proposed Local Law has been scheduled for the 14th day of October, 2025 at 6:30 PM, to be held by the Town Board of West Almond Town Hall 2769 County Rd. 2, West Almond, New York. An opportunity to be heard in regard thereto will then be there be given. Written comments may also be directed to the Town Clerk.
