Notice of Public Hearing
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Thursday, April 2, 2026 at 9:00am at the City of Anderson Council Chambers located at 1887 Howard Street, Anderson, CA the Shasta Local Agency Formation Commission will conduct public hearings to consider the following items:
Rehearing of the Burney Fire Protection District Municipal Service Review (MSR) and Sphere of Influence (SOI) Update. Cassel area community members have petitioned the Commission to rehear the prior approval of the Burney FPD MSR/SOI Update (Resolution 2025-06) which was previously heard at the October 2, 2025, Regular Commission meeting. The Commission will reconsider the findings of the MSR and the District's SOI with regard to the greater Burney community, Cassel, Hatchet Ridge, and areas just south of the McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park.
Proposed Budget for FY2026-27. The Commission will consider adopting a Proposed Budget for Fiscal Year 2026-27 in accordance with California Government Code Section 56381(c). The proposed budget will be presented to the Commission for approval and authorization to circulate to local funding agencies for their review in anticipation of adopting a final budget in June 2026.
Proposed Williams Road Annexation to the Fall River Valley Community Services District (FRVCSD). The Commission will consider approving an annexation of area located adjacent to the northeast end of the FRVCSD and generally bounded by Williams Road, Lewis Road, and State Highway 299 in McArthur. The area includes 14 parcels of land totaling 25.84 acres that is located within the FRVCSD's adopted Sphere of Influence (SOI). The primary purpose is to provide water to established homes that have documented water quality issues.
All interested persons have a right to attend the public hearings and be heard regarding the listed actions. The agenda and related meeting materials will be posted on the Commission's website www.shastalafco.org at least 72 hours before the scheduled start time of the meeting.
