Notice of Public Hearing
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Board of County Commissioners of Okaloosa County, Florida, on July 14, 2026 at 8:30 A.M., or soon thereafter, will hold a public hearing at the County Crestview Courthouse Board Room, 101 East James Lee Boulevard, Crestview, Florida, to discuss the County's proposal to construct a large diameter water main using Okaloosa County Water and Sewer Department (OCWS) staff and equipment. The public hearing shall constitute the public meeting as required by section 255.20, Fla. Stat. The purpose of the public hearing is to consider whether it is in the public's best interest to perform the project using the local government's own services, employees, and equipment. The scope of work generally consists of installing 10,900 linear feet (LF) of 12" polyvinyl chloride (PVC) water main and 900 LF of 8" PVC sewer force main and all connections to existing water mains along the north side of Santa Rosa Blvd. west of Highway 98. The estimated cost of the project using OCWS staff is $1,800,000.
ALL INTERESTED PERSONS ARE INVITED TO ATTEND AND BE HEARD
REGARDING THE PUBLIC HEARING.
The proposal and cost estimate breakdown may be inspected by the public at Okaloosa County Water & Sewer, 1802 Lewis Turner Blvd., Engineering Office, 850-651-7502. If any person decides to appeal any decision made with respect to any matter considered at these hearings, such person will need a record of the proceeding and may need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceeding is made which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based. Okaloosa County adheres to the American Disabilities Act and will make reasonable modifications for access to these hearings upon request. Requests may be made to the Water & Sewer offices described above and must be made at least 48 hours in advance of the hearings in order to provide the requested service.
