NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING - VILLAGE OF GERMANTOWN NOTICE is hereby given that a Public Hearing will be held before the Village of Germantown Plan Commission at the Germantown Village Hall located at N112 W17001 Mequon Road, Germantown, Wisconsin and virtually through the WebEx platform on the following date and at the time noted below (or soon thereafter): DATE: Monday, December 8, 2025 TIME: 6:30 p.m. or later VILLAGE OF GERMANTOWN FLOODPLAIN ZONING ORDINANCE The purpose of said hearing is to solicit public comments from any and all parties, their attorneys or agents, for or against an amendment to the Village of Germantown Floodplain Zoning Ordinance (Section 23 of the Village of Germantown Municipal Code) that includes the adoption of revised Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM's) and a revised Flood Insurance Study (FIS) with an effective date of February 20, 2026, as required by state and federal law in order for the Village of Germantown to remain compliant with and participate in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). The revised FIRM floodplain maps are the latest Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) prepared by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The Floodplain Zoning Ordinance, Flood Insurance Study (FIS) and Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) are intended to protect life, health and property in floodplain areas, govern permitted land uses and development of property located within and/or affected by mapped floodplains, and allow continued participation in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). A copy of the revised Floodplain Zoning Ordinance, Flood Insurance Study (FIS) and Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM's) are on file in the Planning & Zoning Services counter of the Community Development Department in the Village Hall, N112 W17001 Mequon Road, and can be viewed on the Village's website by following link: Website: https://www.germantownwi.gov Citizens wishing to submit any public comments should do so by sending them by email to: comments@germantownwi.gov no later than 4:00pm on the meeting date listed above.
