NOTICE OF SPRING GENERAL AND SPECIAL ELECTIONS CITY OF SOUTH MILWAUKEE April 7, 2026 An election is to be held in the City of South Milwaukee on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. The following offices are to be elected to succeed the present incumbents listed: Office Incumbent General Election Mayor James Shelenske Special Election Municipal Judge Margaret M. Zienkiewicz The 3-year term for Mayor begins on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. For the Municipal Judge, the term begins on Tuesday, May 1, 2026, and the successful candidate with fill the remainder of the 3-year term that ends on April 30, 2028. Information concerning aldermanic district boundaries may be obtained from the City Clerk's Office, 2424 15th Ave., during normal business hours or from the City website at https://www.southmilwaukee.gov/. The first day to circulate nomination papers is December 1, 2025, and the final day for filing nomination papers is 5:00 p.m., on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, in the Office of the City Clerk. Nomination papers and other forms and information related to filing for candidacy can be obtained in the City Clerk's Office, 2424 15th Ave., during normal business hours or from the City website at https://www.southmilwaukee.gov/. If a primary is necessary, the primary will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026. Acceptable Photo ID will be required to vote at this election.
