NOTICE TO PROPERTY OWNERS
The Altoona Board of Adjustment will hold a Public Hearing on Tuesday, June 2nd, 2026, at 6:30 PM in the Council Chambers at Altoona City Hall, 900 Venbury Drive, Altoona, Iowa.
The purpose of said hearing is to consider a request for a variance from Terry Capman for his property located at 8045 NE 50th Ave, currently zoned A-1 (Agricultural). The applicant is requesting a 200 square foot variance to allow for the construction of a 1,200 sf detached accessory where a maximum of 1,000 square feet is allowed, in accordance with Chapter 167.04 of the Altoona City Code. The property is legally described as:
Lot 2 in SMW Estates an Official Plat, in Polk County, Iowa
The Board of Adjustment of Altoona, Iowa, may by special permit, after holding a Public Hearing, authorize the permit needed to allow such use.
