Notice to Taxpayers
ADDITIONAL APPROPRIATION HEARING
Notice is hereby given to the taxpayers of the Penn-Harris-Madison School Corporation (the "School Corporation") that the Board of School Trustees (the "Board") of the School Corporation will meet at the School Corporation's Educational Services Center, 55900 Bittersweet Road, Mishawaka, Indiana, at the hour of 6:00 p.m. (Local Time) on June 22, 2026, to consider the following additional appropriation which the Board considers necessary to meet the need existing at this time:
An appropriation to Fund # 0201 (Bond Proceeds) in the amount not to exceed $25,000,000, plus investment earnings thereon, on account of the renovation of and improvements to school facilities throughout the school corporation, including the building envelopes, mechanical systems, energy efficiency, safety and security systems, site condition and circulation, exterior grounds and amenities, the maintenance and refurbishment of learning spaces, and the purchase of technology, service vehicles, buses and equipment in the School Corporation (collectively, the "Project"), including the incidental expenses necessary to be incurred in connection with the Project. The funds to meet such additional appropriation are to be provided by the sale of real estate to the Penn High School Bldg. Corp.
The foregoing appropriation is in addition to all appropriations provided for in the existing budget and tax levy, and a need for such appropriation exists by reason of the inadequacy of the present buildings to provide necessary school facilities.
Taxpayers of the School Corporation appearing at the meeting shall have the right to be heard in respect to the additional appropriation. The meeting will also be available to stream live from http://youtube.com/c/PennHarrisMadison/live.
