NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC OF HISTORIC PROPERTIES ADVERSE EFFECT
Three Historic-Age Properties located in Kankakee County, Illinois
Illinois Generation LLC is proposing to construct the Heritage Prairie Wind Project (Project) in Kankakee and Livingston counties, Illinois. The proposed Project is a 600-megawatt wind generation facility with an overall Project Area extending approximately 21 miles east-to-west by 8 miles north-to-south comprising 141 wind turbines. In addition to the wind turbines, the Project will include associated access roads, underground collection lines, substation, an operations and maintenance building, and other appurtenant facilities. Refer to the attached map depicting the proposed Project Location.
In accordance with the Illinois State Agency Historic Resources Preservation Act (20 ILCS 3420) and its implementing rules (17 IAC 4180) (Act), the Illinois State Historic Preservation Office determined the Project will have an adverse visual effect on three (3) historic-age properties that are listed or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The NRHP-eligible resources include the properties located at:
14797 IL-17, Buckingham
17200 W. 1000N Road, Reddick
17435 IL-17, Reddick
In order to resolve these adverse effects pursuant to the Act, Illinois Generation, LLC is seeking public input as potential mitigation options are developed to offset adverse effects to these resources. Any person or group wishing to submit comments regarding the adverse effects to these historic properties may do so in writing by October 21, 2025.
