OFFICIAL PUBLICATION POLK COUNTY DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS OLDER ADULT HOME MODIFICATION PROGRAM-AGING IN PLACE AIP-16, AIP-20, AND AIP-21 Sealed bids for the provision of the Older Adult Home Modification Program at a property located in Des Moines, Iowa, will be received by the Polk County Department of Public Works, Housing Services Division, Polk County Public Works Building, 5885 NE 14th Street, Des Moines, Iowa, 50313 until 2:00 p.m. on October 13, 2025. Bids will be publicly opened and read at 2:05 p.m. on the above-mentioned date in the Conference Room of the Polk County Public Works Building. The precise property address will be provided at the open house. Interested vendors may only obtain bid packets by attending an open house. By virtue of statutory authority, a preference will be given to products and provisions grown and coal produced within the State of Iowa and to Iowa domestic labor. Furthermore, in accordance with federal law, 2 CFR 200.322, to the greatest extent practical and consistent with law, preference shall be given for the purchase, acquisition, or use of goods, products or materials produced in the Unites states. It is the purchasing policy of Polk County to allow the Polk County Board of Supervisors the discretion of showing preference in purchasing materials, products, supplies, provisions, goods and services from Iowa-based companies and or bidders who produce goods or maintain an office in Iowa. Preference may also be given to materials, products, supplies, provisions, goods and services from Polk County-based companies and or bidders who produce goods or maintain an office in Polk County. Further, it is the policy of Polk County to actively solicit and seek out local bidders of materials, products, supplies, provisions, goods and services and to encourage said bidders to stock and supply Iowa-made products.
