Oglethorpe County US 78 C&D Landfill Proposed Expansion Oglethorpe County - US 78 C&D Proposed Landfill Expansion Permit No. 109-003D (C&D) Notice is hereby given that Oglethorpe County has received a Site Suitibiility Notice dated February 25, 2026, from the Georgia Environmental Protection Division (EPD) for the proposed Phase III Lateral Expansion of the US 78 Construction & Demolition Landfill. The Notice confirms the proposed expansion can meet applicable state siting standards, subject to site limitations, and that the site is suitable for the intended purpose. The Site Suitability Notice does not constitute a permit and does not authorize construction or operation of the proposed C&D landfill expansion. In accordance with Rule 391-3-4-.03(3) and O.C.G.A § 12-8-32, Oglethorpe County is initiating the Facility Issues Negotiation (FIN) process.
